Bored this Sunday before finals? Go to Eastern Market.

Eastern Market was built in 1873 and is one of the very few public markets left in the DC area. There is fresh produce and food, flowers, baked goods, meat, cheese and other products.

On Sundays, there is also a flea market in addition to the farmer's market products.

South Hall: Tuesday-Saturday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The National Cherry Blossom Parade is a must-see event. Free to the public (or you can reserve $15 grandstand tickets), this is the "Rose Bowl" parade for D.C.

The parade is this Saturday, April 12, 2008.

See the Tamagawa University Dance Ensemble at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage this Thursday, April 10, at 6 p.m.

It is a free event.

It is described as a, "colorful program of new and traditional Okinawan dances with extravagant costumes and sets. Part of the Cherry Blossom Festival."

Take the MetroRail's red line to the Foggy Bottom/GWU station to get to the Kennedy Center.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8, see two notable vocal soloists on stage at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in a free concert.

The concert starts at 6 p.m. in the Millennium Stage.

To get to the Kennedy Center via MetroRail, take the red line to Foggy Bottom/GWU. Once you are on the street, there is a free shuttle stop directly ahead that runs from the Foggy Bottom station to the Kennedy Center about every 15 minutes.

Come to the Columbia Union College Commons on Sunday, April 13, 2008, for the annual Tastes of Takoma festival.

The festival features food, live music, children's entertainment and community vendors. Washington Adventist Hospital will be providing screenings and free information to the public. This year's event will also feature a rock-climbing wall and other exciting activities.

Per tradition, the CUC Acro-Airs gymnastics team will perform free shows for the public at various times throughout the day.

Tastes of Takoma runs from noon to 6 p.m., rain or shine, this Sunday.

Don't miss this free event! See you there!

Tastes of Takoma is organized by students of the CUC Communication and Journalism Department. Dr. Barry Casey is the faculty sponsor for the event.
