FOUR MEMBERS OF the Columbia Union College men's baseball team were selected as national All-Americans by the USCAA. Keith Goldsmith was selected as an Academic All-American, and Ryan Brown, Michael Passurell, and Kendall Hurst were announced as Athletic All-Americans.
The CUC baseball team plays at the
NCAA Division II level and finished the regular season with a record of 32-22, giving them the top seed in the USCAA National Invitation Tournament. The team was also recognized by the NCAA for having one of the largest turn-arounds from one year to the next in Division II history. Coach Michael Ricucci, a former student at CUC, told CUCBlog that the 32 wins also is a school record -- for any sport.
