Pioneers Finish 2nd at National Baseball Finals

THE MEN'S BASEBALL team at Columbia Union College finished 2nd at the USCAA
National Invitational Tournament held in Tampa Bay, FL. The 2nd place finish marks the first time in school history that a team has played for a national championship in any sport. The Pioneers lost in the final game to Briarcilff College by a score of 6-1. In the earlier semi-final game, CUC defeated Presentation College 5-4, overcoming a three run deficit late in the game by scoring 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning.
CUC was also honored to have four players named to the National Invitational All Tournament Team. Ryan Brown, Charles Rupert, Brad McLaughlin, and Jedidiah Jacobsen were selected to the team by tournament officials.
Columbia Union College finished the regular season 32-22, smashing the school record for wins by 17. CUC competes at the
