'Hotel Rwanda' Presentation by Dr. Per Houmann

THE COLUMBIA UNION College Honors Program is sponsoring two events centering around the 2004 film Hotel Rwanda. The first, which took place on Monday, February 5, was a special screening of the film in the Communications Studio. The second is a presentation by Dr. Per Houmann, who served as a medical missionary in Rwanda during the genocide in the 1990s. Dr. Houman will share is unique and personal perspective on the horrible events that took place in Rwanda.

Hotel Rwanda (2004) was directed by Terry George and tells the true story Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager who housed over 1,000 Tutsis refugees during their struggle against the Hutu militia in Rwanda. The film stars Don Cheadle, who was nominated for a Oscar for the role. (more) (view trailer).
