THE COLUMBIA UNION College Acro-Airs team performed last night during the Washington Wizards 99-98 win over the New York Knicks. The team was the halftime entertainment and provided a variety of stunt routines during time-outs and television time-outs.

The Acro-Airs, CUC's high-flying gymnastics team, performs regularly for the Wizards and other NBA teams. In recent years the team has performed in New York (read about their recent performance at Madison Square Garden), Philadelphia, Indianapolis, Boston, Toronto, and Atlanta. Many colleges and universities have gymnastics teams, but few can boast the performing schedule of the Acro-Airs. "You have to understand, we are performing for 20,000 people when we do these NBA games," said Don Peter, a member of the team. "It's an amazing feeling -- especially when the whole arena cheers for us when we're done."
